7. Glastonbury, Somerset, UK

I've chosen Glastonbury as my next destination because I've never been there but I sooooooo want to!  We bypassed it once, travelling to Cheddar Gorge on our honeymoon, and I really wish we'd had time to stop!  Not only does Glastonbury have incredible historical sites, such as Glastonbury Abbey and Glastonbury Tor, it is also home to one of the most famous summer festivals in the UK.  Just the words Glastonbury Festival conjour up the magic of muddy wellies, painted faces, spilt beer, rain, flooded tents and watching your favourite bands perform on a big screen because you're half a mile from the stage.  Oh, and stinky porta-loos.  I so want to go.

Anyone been to Glastonbury - either the festival or just to visit the town?

I listen to BBC radio 1 sometimes and they talk about this festival. I'd go for the abbey and the music, but not so much the mud. :)

I've never made it into the Abbey, but there is a most amzing peace that occurs at the top of the tor.

I'm a wimp and watch the festival on telly instead! Last year's Glastonbury was amazing - especially the Beyonce concert!

Take care

Wow, that is a long list of particpants. I've never heard of it, but love outdoor festivals. I do not love getting muddy.

I've never been, but the girls' dad took them to the Festival a couple of years ago. I was very jealous!

I'd love to see the town, looks inviting. But I don't think I would enjoy the rock festaval in the mud. I've outgrown that!
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,
Anna
