If you read my IWSG post this month, you might remember that I have returned from holiday exhausted from all the relaxation and don't feel at all like writing...
This situation has an upside which is that I have got back into reading, for which I never seem to have enough time, and have even been managing to read without the persistently wandering mind that usually afflicts me!
I don't like picking books apart and analysing them, but I do know what I've enjoyed and I thought I'd just share a few with you now. These are all books I have not wanted to put down and was sorry to finish (sob).
So Much For That by Lionel Shriver
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Belong to Me by Marisa de los Santos
Tough Girl by Libby Heily
I'm not going to give you the low-down on them because you can find them in your bookshop or on Amazon and read the blurb. All I want to say is that I really enjoyed them for various reasons. Each is unusual in its style and content and to me were like a breath of fresh air. They also stopped my mind from wandering - and that says a lot!
If you've already read any of them, I'd love to know what you thought!

I definitely want to read both Gone Girl and Tough Girl, but unfortunately I'm too busy sighing and tearing my hair out to read! They're going on my TBR list, just so I don't forget about them though.
I've not read any of those, but I have read quite a few books lately.
I've heard Gone Girl is good. Haven't heard of the others. Great that you got a chance to do some reading.
Not read any of these, thanks for the recommendations. I always like to have a nice long TBR list!
I've been meaning to read Libby's book, I've heard such great things about it. Definitely need to move that one up on my list.
It's always such a great feeling to fall in love with a book and not want it to end. :)
There's been a lot of buzz about GONE GIRL. I should read it!! I love to hear what other people are enjoying - so thank you for sharing!
I love it when you read a book and you end up wanting more or you can't put it down. That is just the best.
Received Gone Girl for my birthday (June) and looking forward to reading that. Great to have a recommended list of page turners - I find it hard to read reviews and always worried about plot reveals so this was great!
So glad you've rediscovered your love of reading.
I keep seeing Gone Girl everywhere. If it's that good I'll try and track it down.
I haven't read Gone Girl but I've read about it quite a bit on blogs and twitter.
Haven't read any of them, but I'm glad you've rediscovered your love for reading. :-)
I picked up Gone Girl and couldn't get into it. I think I must be the only person who feels that way!
I haven't read any of them but Gone Girl is on my list. Right now I'm kind of out of the reading phase. I get like that when I'm writing a rough draft of a new novel.
