Lexa and Julie's Dream Destination Blog Hop

I'd normally be taking part in the Insecure Writer's Support Group over at Alex J.Cavanaugh's blog but I'm giving my usual incessant whingeing a miss this month in favour of letting my thoughts meander to a less-stressful, non-writing place (which pretty much tells you how I'm feeling about fitting writing into my life just now!)

Lexa Cain and Julie Flanders are hosting this Blog Hop, so please hop over to their blogs to say "Hello" and to take part in the free Rafflecopter Giveaway! There are around 20 prizes up for grabs!

And now... a dream destination. Hmn... I'm really torn between somewhere hot and somewhere deliciously cold and snowy. I've always found the thought of a log cabin with a roaring fire, fur (but not real fur - yuk!) rugs to recline on and snow drifting down on pine trees outside the window very appealing. I'm a bit of a sucker for Wham's 'Last Christmas' video too!

So... maybe this would be my Dream Destination:

(Hotel Kakslauttennan, Lapland/Finland border)

Or this:

... although I must admit it's not exactly a cabin! Holiday Inn is one of my favourite films, though - and it gave us that wonderful early rendition of 'White Christmas'.

Well, now I'm feeling all cosy and quite Christmassy, I'm off to Julie's or Lexa's blog to take a look at everyone else's Dream Destination. I'd love you to come with me!

Happy Thursday. ☺

It's lovely, but I'm just not into snow and cold. :)

Gorgeous! Now would you be skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, or building a snowman BEFORE rewarding yourself by snuggling under those fake furs in front of a fire? Would you be traipsing outside to hottub in the snow?

I agree with Dana. It looks like a perfect place to sit in front of a fire and write!

I love these pictures and always think I want to be somewhere like this, but then I whine as soon as we get even a little bit of snow here LOL. But then when I see these I think, but it's so lovely!

Thanks so much for participating in our Hop!

Oh your pictures are enticing. I love snowy days and I can snuggle up inside with a cup of hot chocolate and read.

I'd like the cabin in the snow as long as I could stay inside and drink hot chocolate. Oh, and I'd have to have lots of books. And my husband, too, of course. :)

Hi Linda!! Where have I been? Missed commenting with you ;)

I LOVE the idea of a cabin getaway. I want internet connection, but no phone...that would be dreamy.

Okay, now I want to eat snow. Is that weird? It's gloomy and dark in NYC right now, but no snow. I want some snow... and hot cocoa ;-)

It would be lovely to visit a snowy winter wonderland... for a week or so, but I don't EVER want to live someplace again where we're buried under snow for months on end. The romance wears off real fast.

Nice to meet you! Count me in as your newest groupie. (Anyone who remembers the original "Holiday Inn" is my kinda people!)

That pictures makes me feel all Christmasy. :) What a beautiful place to go and spend some time with your writing, maybe a family member or two, and the sound of the natural world.

I love the snowy, wintery feel. It's really hot an humid here today, so seeing the snow makes me all nostalgic for real winters....

While I would love to see the Northern lights, I know I never will as I would always select summer over winter, given the choice.

That cabin looks amazing. I want to be there right now.

I love that movie. Yes, it would be the perfect getaway.

So long as there's a roaring fire to keep me warm, a log cabin sounds great. :)

How lovely! Pass the hot chocolate! I'm with you on snowy scenes. Best seen when tucked up and warm and cosy inside. New follower!

"Holiday Inn" is one of my favorite Christmas movies too, and I love the gorgeous "White Christmas" song. I also love the song "Silver Bells" from "The Lemon Drop Kid." Bob Hope's a riot! Thanks so much for sharing your dream destination and for joining our hop. :-)

Although I prefer the sun and warmth I am completely captured by that beauty

A holiday in a cabin would be great, as long as it's warm inside, and as long as there are no Wham! with me :)

It's sort of looking like that around here right now! I find it lovely except when I have to go out and do normal life things. ;)
